Kazakh Ambassador to Qatar holds a series of meetings with government officials

ABU DHABI. KAZINFORM - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar Askar Shokybayev has met with the chairman of an international center for dialogue among religions Ibrahim Saleh al-Naimi, Minister of Awqaf and Islam of the State of Qatar Gasi bin Mubarak al-Kuwari, Minister of Energy and Industry of the country Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada and Chairman of the Central Bank of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani.

During the meeting with the Minister of Awqaf and Islam and Chairman of the International Centre for the Dialogue of religions Ambassador A.Shokybayev gave them an invitation on behalf of Senate's Chairman K.Tokayev to participate in the V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The Kazakh diplomat noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the participation of Qatar in the event. During the meeting with the Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada Shokybaev told about the positive trends in the political life of Kazakhstan, as well as successes in the international arena. Talking about the socio-economic sphere, the Ambassador explained the Minister the main provisions of the President's address "Nurly Zhol - The path to the Future" and the measures taken by the Government to counter the economic crisis caused by oil prices decrease. Minister Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada expressed interest in the international exhibition "EXPO-2017" and the possibility of cooperation in oil and gas sector. He also expressed his willingness to accept in Doha Vladimir Shkolnik, Energy Minister of Kazakhstan, to discuss the prospects of bilateral collaboration. In addition, he expressed interest in signing a memorandum of understanding between the two agencies. The meeting with the chairman of the Central Bank of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani, discussed the need to establish full-fledged contacts between the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Central Bank of the State of Qatar.
