Kazakh Ambassador unharmed as mine explodes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry confirmed the Kazakh Ambassador was unharmed as the mine exploded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. He returned safely to Islamabad, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the Ministry’s spokesperson, Aibek Smadiyarov, the Kazakh Ambassador was among the diplomats from 12 countries on their way to the city of Swat when the mine detonated near a convoy vehicle killing one policeman and injuring three more. They were expected to attend the tourism conference organized by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The representatives of the diplomatic corps returned safely to Islamabad.
