Kazakh Ambassador visited federal state of Thuringia

MAGDEBURG. March 30. KAZINFORM /Yuliya Chernova/ Kazakh Ambassador to Germany Nurlan Onzhanov paid a working visit to federal state of Thuringia on March 27, 2009 within the Year of Kazakhstan in Germany.

N.Onzhanov participated in the annual meeting of the Association of medium enterprises of Thuringia, visited concert of «TUPAG-Firmengruppe". The Kazakh Diplomat briefed the reps of the Assosiation on the political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan, measures of the Government taken on combating the financial crisis and support of the further development of priority sectors of the national economy in line with the President?s Address to the Nation. The entrepreneurs of Thuringia were informed on investment potential of the republic and different opportunities for conducting business in Kazakhstan. The reps were also informed on the main provisions of ? The Path to Europe? State Program. Upon the results of the event N.Onzhanov met with Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection of Thuringia Ilse Aigner and discussed the prospects of development of Kazakh-German cooperation in the field of agriculture. The Head of the Kazakh Diplomatic Mission stressed the importance of the development of the agricultural sector of the economy and great interest of the Kazakh side in close cooperation with Germany in exchange of experience and study of German know-how in this field. Issues of cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries and the activity of ?Germany-Central Asia? Parliamentary Group of the Bundestag were discussed at the meeting with the Deputy of the Bundestag. The agreement on holding of ?The Day of the Kazakh economy? in the capital city of the federal state in the second half of 2009 was achieved upon the results of the visit.
