Kazakh and Italian MPs eye bilateral cooperation, EXPO events and much more

Kazakh senators Orynbai Rakhanberdiyev, Georgy Kim and Majilis deputies Svetlana Bychkova and Kairbek Suleimenov attended the meeting as well.
At the meeting the sides eyed the problems of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy and strengthening of the inter-parliamentary ties. Mr. Adyrbekov stressed the high level of all-round cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy that was nailed down in the Agreement on strategic partnership inked in 2009 by leaders of the countries. The Kazakh MP noted that nowadays Italy is the third largest trade partner of Kazakhstan in the world. The bilateral interaction in the sphere of defense and security is also being gradually developed.
Kazakh Parliament's activity, perfection of the national legislation and the priorities of parliamentary work outlined by the President of Kazakhstan at the opening of the new parliamentary session were discussed during the meeting as well.
The Italian delegation thanked Kazakhstani MPs for cordial reception and noted the intensive development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Italy. Having stressed the role the Republic of Kazakhstan plays in the region, the Italian senators reiterated their interest in further development of cooperation in various spheres. Milan will host the EXPO-2015 event, according to the Italian MPs, and then, the Italian city will pass the baton to the Kazakh capital - Astana where the International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 will take place.
