Kazakh Assylkhan Kusherbay advances at first U19 World Boxing Championship in Colorado
Kazakh boxer Assylkhan Kusherbay (65 kg) vied in the quarterfinal bout of the first U19 World Boxing Championship at the Pueblo Convention Center in Colorado, the U.S., Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.
Kusherbay beat American Mesiah Nimo via split decision. Thus, the Kazakh boxer propelled to the semifinals. His next opponent is Maksym Nizhenskyi of Ukraine.
Therefore, Assylkhan Kusherbay and Daniyal Raimbekov (85 kg) will represent Kazakhstan in the semifinals of the tournament.
The first U19 World Boxing Championship is set to run in Colorado (USA) from October 26 till November 2. 180 athletes from 30 countries are taking part in the world championship. Kazakhstan is represented by Yerassyl Amangaliyev (55 kg), Assylkhan Kusherbay (65 kg), Dias Serikuly (70 kg), and Daniyal Raimbekov (85 kg).
