Kazakh, Belarusian Ministers of Defense met

ATY. October 15. KAZINFORM  /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ Ministers of Defense of Kazakhstan and Belarus Adilbek Dzhaksybekov and Leonid Maltsev met today on the threshold of the Interaction-2009 joint command-staff exercises with the participation of the CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces in Almaty.

Issues of military cooperation were on agenda of the meeting.

"Belarus is a friendly country for us, tomorrow it can also participate in the CSTO exercises as an observer state. The negotiations were successful since our countries have been enjoying close ties for many years. We have discussed the issues of mutual exchange of experience because as is known Belarus possesses of large ventures of military-industrial complex. It can help us in modernization of our military equipment", A.Dzhaksybekov said.

In turn, L. Maltsev noted huge work carried out by Kazakhstan in development of military and military-technical cooperation. "Our cooperation is not only mutually beneficial but it also develops dynamically", he said.

Issues of cooperation in training military personnel were also discussed.

At present 190 military servants are passing traineeships at the Belarusian military educational institutions. This year Kazakhstan has sent more than 90 military servants to Belarus for study.
