Kazakh Bibisara Assaubayeva ranks among Top 10 at FIDE World Rapid Championships

Kazakh chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva secured four victories and seven draws at the FIDE World Rapid Championships 2024 in New York to score 7.5 points in 11 rounds, Kazinform News Agency cites SPORT+.

India's Koneru Humpy won her second World Rapid Chess Championship title defeating Indonesia's Irene Sukandar with 8.5 points.

The World Rapid & Blitz Championships are set to take place from 26 to 31 December in New York City.

Earlier world chess star Magnus Carlsen has withdrawn from the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships in New York following a disagreement over the tournament's dress code.
