Kazakh capital to build 15 more schools in 2025
Last year a record high 24 new schools opened their doors in Astana, education department head Kassymkhan Sengazyev said, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The capital city leads in the construction of schools. 24 schools for 33,000 seats per one shift were opened in Astana in 2024. Many of them were built as part of the Comfortable School national project. This academic year new schools welcomed 22,400 pupils.
Seven comfortable schools were commissioned in Yessil district, four in Nura district, two in Almaty district and another two in Saryarka district.
He added three more schools for 1,550 seats and five private schools for 3,240 seats were built under the budget investment project. It solved the three-shifting schooling problem in the city.
Sengazyev stressed that 15 more schools for 23,000 students will open this year. Four of them designated for 2,700 pupils will be built under the budget investment project. Of which two will be situated in Nura district, and another two in Almaty district. Seven schools for 14,000 pupils will be built as part of the Comfortable School national project.
Four more private schools will open their doors in Astana this year for more than 6,000 students. Three schools to accommodate 5,172 pupils will be located in Yessil district, and another 1,040-seat school in Nura district.
As earlier reported, the 16th comfortable school opened its doors in the Kazakh capital in January.
