Kazakh Central Election Commission registers first party list

ASTANA. December 7. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ About half of the candidates to the Majilis from the People's Democratic Party "Nur Otan" are people under 55 years old, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Kuandyk Turgankulov told a briefing on Wednesday.

"On 7 December the Central Election Commission registered the first party list. It was the list of "Nur Otan" People's Democratic Party. Among the registered candidates there are representatives of seven nationalities, more than 20 percent are women," Turgankulov said.

"50 candidates have been previously members of Parliament, 49 of them are former Majilismen and one senator," he noted.
