Kazakh chess players rank among TOP 10 Girls October 2024

The FIDE updated its ratings of the world’s top chess players, ranking Kazakhstani players among the TOP 10 of the five world’s best players lists. It is noteworthy, Bibisara Assaubayeva leads the Blitz TOP 100 Girls October 2024 and Rapid TOP 100 Girls October 2024 rankings, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Meruert Kamalidenova, Alua Nurman and Xeniya Balabayeva are also among the Blitz TOP 100 Girls October 2024 rankings 4th, 6th, and 10th correspondingly.

Bibisara is atop the Rapid TOP 100 Girls October 2024, while Meruert climbs to the 4th spot.

The Kazakh female chess players also rank among the TOP 100 Girls October 2024 ratings. Bibisara is the second-best-rated chess player, while Meruet is placed 8th and Alua 10th.

Bibisara Assaubayeva is the only one to rank among the Rapid TOP 100 Women October 2024 list.

As earlier reported, the Kazakhstani Women’s Team took home silver at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Hungary defeating the strongest chess players from the U.S. and Poland.

India claimed gold in both the Men’s and Women’s Olympiads 2024.

20-year-old IM Bibisara Assaubayeva (2482), 19-year-old IM Meruert Kamalidenova (2352), 18-year-old WIM Xeniya Balabayeva (2335) and WIM Amina Kairbekova (2243), and the youngest on the roster WIM Alua Nurman (2324) defended the country’s colors at the World Chess Olympiad. Notably, 17-year-old Alua Nurman debuted at the Olympiad in Hungary. Kazakhstan won the historic silver medal. In 2022 the Team finished fifth at the 44th World Chess Olympiad in Chennai, 11th at the 43rd FIDE World Chess Olympiad in Batumi in 2018 and 37th at the 42nd Chess Olympiad in Baku in 2016.

Each will receive 20 million tenge in recognition of their weighty contribution to the history of the development of chess in Kazakhstan. The chief women’s team coach Pavel Kotsur and coach Alexander Moisseenko will each get 10 million tenge.
