Kazakh, Chinese foreign ministers sign memo of cooperation for 2014-2016
BEIJING. KAZINFORM Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov has met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi to debate ongoing cooperation between Kazakhstan and China and the countries' interaction within international institutions, regional and international security issues.
One of the key issues of the agenda is the state visit of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to China this May and his participation in the CICA Summit. "We are ready to discuss issues concerning the oncoming state visit of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to China in an effort to give a new impetus to the relations between our nations," Wang Yi said. "As strategic partners we are ready to jointly maintain ties to protect our common interests, ensure peace and stability in the region," he noted. At the end of the meeting the parties signed a memo of cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs of Kazakhstan and China for 2014-2016.
