Kazakh-Chinese mutual trade made $12.2bln in 2008 - Kazakh Customs Committee
XIAN. November 17. KAZINFORM. /Ruslan Suleimenov/ The volume of mutual trade between Kazakhstan and China amounted to USD 12.2 billion in 2008. That is by 34% more as compared to 2007. Chairman of the Customs Committee of the Kazakh Finance Minister Kozy-Korpesh Karbuzov made it public at the conference on cooperation between customs services and business circles within the Eurasian Economic Forum-2009 on Monday.
According to him, since the two states are the economic partners having a long joint frontier it is necessary to elaborate concerted actions on further development of bilateral relations in the customs sphere.
Activities of the customs services of the two states are aimed at creating favorable conditions for movement of goods and transport vehicles across the customs border. As is known, there was reached the agreement on introduction of joint customs control, its concept and staged implementation. Besides, in October 2008 Kazakhstan and China developed and approved an action plan on cooperation between the customs services for 2009-2011.
