Kazakh Culture Ministry develops state program on language development for 2011-2020

ASTANA. November 18. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information is starting to develop the State Program on Functioning and Development of Languages for 2011-2020; Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed informed of it at the session of the Ministry at the President's Center of Culture.

According to the minister the results of implementation of 10-years State Program on development of the state language will be summarized and a new program will be developed this and next years with given results. A peculiar attention will be paid to the extension of social-communicative and consolidating functions of the state language.

"The main purpose is to turn Kazakh language into modern information language. For this purpose it is necessary to develop new programs on introduction of Kazakh language into the Internet to demonstrate its potential and propagate achievements. About 200 weekend schools operate under the national-cultural centers where children and adults are taught 30 languages of different ethnic diasporas", - the Minister noted.
