Kazakh customs service detain Chinese national with undeclared currency
ASTANA. KAZINFORM -A citizen of China has been detained at "Maikapchagai" customs post, Zaisan border detachment, with significant amount of undeclared hard currency, according to the press service of the Border Service under the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan.
Kazakh border guards inspected Yuton passenger bus, en route from China to Kazakhstan, and found more than three million tenge (approx. $16000). The amount had not been declared in the customs declaration. The 40-year-old driver has been detained. The collected materials and funds transferred to specialists of "Maikapchagai" customs post. Investigations have been launched into a suspected attempt to illegally transfer hard currency.
