Kazakh Defense Ministry to conduct 30-day investigation into An-72 plane crash

ASTANA. December 28. KAZINFORM In accordance with the order of the Minister of Defense of December 26, 2012, a special commission has been formed to investigate the causes of the crash of the An-72 plane of the Border Service of the Kazakh National Security Committee, the press service of the Ministry of Defense said.

The commission is headed by Murat Kazhmuratov, chief of the main directorate for supervision over aviation safety. It consists of 13 people, including 11 specialists of the Ministry of Defense, and two representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The experts have begun decoding the onboard recorder and the flight data recorder. Investigation will be carried out for 30 days. These data will be collected and analyzed. Conclusions on the causes of the crash will be prepared on the basis of the results of the relevant work, and necessarily will be made public, the press service said.
