Kazakh delegation and European officials discuss relations development

BRUSSELS. March 19. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev accompanied by Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Justice Marat Beketayev and Vice Minister of Economic Development and Trade Kuandyk Bishimbayev has visited Brussels. He held a number of meetings and events with the European officials and leading international experts.

Representatives of the Kazakh delegation met with Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the European Commission Paulo Vizeu Pinheiro, Member of the Office of the EU High Representative for International Affairs and Security Policy Carl Hallergard. At the meetings they discussed further development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union taking into account the forthcoming start of negotiations on a new basic agreement conclusion between the EU and Kazakhstan. Besides, the sides considered the issues of economic and political development of Kazakhstan in the period after the country's chairmanship in the OSCE. The Kazakh representatives and European officials exchanged opinions on relevant issues of the international agenda as well.

Assistant to the President Nurlan Yermekbayev and the delegation members took part in a roundtable dedicated to the status and prospects of the relations development between Kazakhstan and the European Union.

"We were presented a detailed review on what was done and what is realized by Kazakhstan in its relations with the EU. Talking about the partnership between Brussels and Astana, there should not be forgotten that the European Union is the largest trade partner of Kazakhstan," the international expert said.

According to him, an analysis of the internal situation in Kazakhstan demonstrates that thanks to a wise policy of the head of State, the country pays great attention to the issues of the people's welfare and creation of a strong middle class.

Following the roundtable, the experts noted that Kazakhstan implements important political and economic reforms, which allow to be a stable and prosperous state in the Central Asian region.
