Kazakh deputies suggest introducing educational experience of Singapore and Hong Kong
Majilis deputy Zhuldyz Suleimenova put forward a set of proposals to raise the level of education in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.
She stressed the need to adopt and debate the action plan for preserving and raising the level of education countrywide. Following the PISA research results, the Enlightenment Ministry developed certain guidelines for teachers. The deputy said it is necessary to explore the education systems of Singapore and Hong Kong that top the PISA rankings and consider introducing the best educational practice.
She added Kazakhstan is ranked 63rd in 2018 and 61st in 2022 in reading. The Government should pay attention to the development of libraries, book reading, and school projects at large. Zhuldyz Suleimenova believes it is essential to raise the status of librarians and teachers and raise their skills.
The deputy offered to adopt a set of measures to build the national education assessment system to monitor the achievements of schoolchildren.
