Kazakh duo defeats Team Greece at United Cup in Australia

Team Kazakhstan played against Greece in the doubles event at the ongoing United Cup in Australia, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.

Paired with world No. 315 Zhibek Kulambayeva, Aleksandr Nedovyesov clashed with Despina Papamichail (ranked 281st) and Petros Tsitsipas. The Greeks beat the Kazakh duo with a score of 6:2 in the first set, however, the Kazakh team secured a win in the second one. Kulambayeva and Nedovyesov won on a tie break with a score of 10:6. Thus, Team Kazakhstan defeated Greece with a total score of 3:0.

It should be noted that the third match in the series against Greece would not affect the overall tournament standings.

As earlier reported, Kazakhstan's national tennis team had advanced to the quarterfinals of the United Cup.
