Kazakh Economy Minister and OECD Deputy Secretary-General hold talks in Paris

PARIS. March 3. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Kazakhstan Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov met with Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Mario Amano in Paris in the OECD headquarters in the course of a visit to Paris. Director of the OECD Development Center Javier Santiso and Head of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme Fadi Farra took part in the meeting, Kazinform reports.

Minister B. Sultanov thanked the host for the presentation of reports on employment and welfare in the Black Sea region and Central Asia. Both parties expressed mutual intentions to continue constructive partnership and noted the Agreement on the project of Diversification of Kazakhstan Resources for Foreign Direct Investments and Improvement of Sector Investment Programs entered into between Kazakhstan Government and the OECD. Javier Santiso invited Kazakhstan to become a full member of the OECD and promote participation in the work of the OECD committees. At the end of the talks Bakhyt Sultanov gave an interview to ?Le Monde? newspaper. Kazakh delegate told about the current economic situation and anti-crisis steps taken in the republic.
