Kazakh Education Minister met with representatives of French companies

ASTANA. January 17. KAZINFORM Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov met with representatives of French companies headed by Special Envoy of the French President Senator Emery de Montesquieu, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science informs.

Upon the completion of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to France in October of 2010 the two countries reached an agreement on establishment of the Kazakh-French industrial and technological associations. The Kazakh side will be represented by the JSC 'Engineering and Technologies Transfer Center' and the CGGVeritas will represent the French side.

The French delegation arrived in Astana to give the Kazakh side a number of proposals of big French companies and higher education institutions on preparing scientific and technical elite and on industrial diversification and technology transfer.

It is planned that the association will be located at the Nazarbayev University in Astana. Presently, the Concept of establishment and the Regulations on the Coordinating Council of the project are developed as well as the issues regarding investments. The joint action plan on realization of the project has already been developed. The first meeting of the Coordinating Council on the project was also scheduled. All interested Kazakh and French organizations will take part in it.
