Kazakh Embassy in Belarus opens Kazakh language courses
ASTANA. November 10. KAZINFORM. To preserve and develop the national culture and traditions the Kazakh Embassy in Belarus opened Kazakh language courses for representatives of the Kazakh Diaspora in this country; the embassy's press service told Kazinform.
Due to it the Kazakhs living in Belarus got an opportunity to study the history, culture and customs of Kazakhstan. They are able to use the embassy's library and watch CaspioNet National TV Channel.
The Kazakh Diaspora in Belarus asked to open the courses during the September roundtable devoted to the 20th anniversary of proclamation of the Kazakh language as the state language.
About 1,000 ethnic Kazakhs reside in Belarus. Since 2004 "Atameken" International Public Union has been working in Belarus. The Embassy keeps contacts with the Diaspora, holds joint activities and festivals.
