Kazakh Embassy in Pakistan holds reception on Independence Day

ASTANA. December 17. KAZINFORM An official reception on 19th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence organized by the Kazakh Embassy in Pakistan has been held in Islamabad on December 15.

As the Embassy's press release reads, Pakistan's Minister of Commerce of Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Minister for Tourism Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, Minister for Housing and Works Rahmatullah Kakar, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, representatives of public and business circles of Pakistan took part in the event. Over 400 people were guests of the reception.

Kazakh Ambassador Bakhytbek Shabarbayev delivered a welcoming speech. The diplomat informed of Kazakhstan's achievements over the independence years, noted results of the Kazakh presidency in the OSCE, successful holding of the OSCE Summit as well as chairmanship of our country in the OIC and SCO.

Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Farooq Hamid Naek took part in the reception as an honorable guest. In his speech he confirmed interest in strengthening relations with Kazakhstan, spoke highly of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev as a conspicuous statesman who has done a lot for development and prosperity of his country. The Pakistani parliamentarian noted the high international authority of Kazakhstan, which is proved by decisions of the OSCE and OIC member states to entrust presidency in these organizations to our country.
