Kazakh Embassy participated in the Asia-Africa agri-business Forum in New Delhi

ASTANA. KAZINFORM On February 4-8, in New Delhi the First Asia -Africa agri-business Forum was held under the aegis of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Food industry of India. Heads of the related ministries, agricultural enterprises and institutes of Asian and African countries participated in the Forum.

President of India Pranab Kumar Mukherjee delivered a greeting speech on the official opening ceremony, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. Along with other countries, Kazakhstan's Embassy in India presented information on Kazakhstan's agriculture sector. The Forum participants were briefed on the main development directions of crop and live stock farming, and processing of agriculture products in Kazakhstan. The participants also discussed an adopted by Kazakhstan's government new Program "Agribusiness-2020" and favorable investment conditions in Kazakhstan's agricultural sector. The participants showed a keen interest in main directions of development of the agriculture sector, laid down in the Address of the President to the people of Kazakhstan. Experts noted a big attention paid by Kazakhstan to development of agriculture industry which is a traditional sector of the country's economy. In particular, Kazakhstan's efforts to establishing an effective land market were noted. Additionally, the participants discussed about Kazakhstan's intention on creating a group of new small and medium -sized processing facilities in the agricultural sector.
