Kazakh energy ministry reveals amount of oil produced at Kashagan and Tengiz oilfields

 A total of over 647 million tons of oil have been produced at the Tengiz and Kashagan oilfields, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

Since the development of Kashagan and Tengiz oilfields, 647.6 million tons of oil (97.8mln at Kashagan and 549.8mln at Tengiz) have been produced, said the energy ministry.

Opened in 2000, Kashagan is the largest oilfield in the Kazakh shelf of the Caspian Sea with 9-13 billion barrels of oil reserves. Tengiz holds the second largest oil reserves in Kazakhstan – 3,13 billion tons.
