Kazakh epée fencers enter top 10 at FIE Junior Foil World Cup

Kazakhstan's junior epée fencing team has successfully performed at the FIE Junior Foil World Cup in Basel, Switzerland, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from Olympic.kz.

Cruising into quarterfinals bouts, Bogdan Lukin suffered a defeat against Ole Petersen from Germany, while Kirill Prokhodov lost to Tristan Lumineau from the UK.

Thus, Prokhodov and Lukin secured 5th and 8th spots, respectively.

Other Kazakhstani fencers Georgiy Tinnikov finished 12th, Nurzhan Abzhanov - 129th and Alexey Kasatkin - 144th.

As earlier reported, Kazakh fencer Sofiya Aktayeva had bagged a gold medal at the FIE Junior Foil World Cup Fujairah in the UAE.
