Kazakh Ex-Ambassador meets Iranian FM in Tehran

TEHRAN. May 8. KAZINFORM Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Iran Yerik Utembayev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs the IRI Manucher Mottaki in Tehran in connection with completion of his diplomatic mission in this country, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy.

The Head of the Ministry positively assessed the impressive dynamics of the development of the Iranian-Kazakh relations in the late years. ?Due to the wise leadership of Nursultan Nazarbayev Kazakhstan has become a locomotive power of the economic and political reforms in the region and has been acknowledged as a progressive, intensively developing state striving for democracy?, M. Mottaki said. ?I am confident that Kazakhstan plays and will play an important role in the region standing for pursuing political and economic reforms?, he noted. Alongside, M. Mottaki positively estimated the intensively developing trade-economic relations, dynamics of the growth of mutual commodity turnover, pointed out necessity of boosting trade and economic interaction and noted similarity of the countries? approaches to raising the level of the Kazakh-Iranian political dialogue. In turn, Y. Utembayev expressed satisfaction with the bilateral interaction in political and economic spheres having noted that Iran was an important partner for Kazakhstan and proposed to raise the economic cooperation to the multilateral format. The ex-Ambassador highlighted positive experience of the two countries within such multilateral advisory-consultative structures as the SCO, the CICA and the Congress of the Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions. The parties also expressed interest in further joint work on development of transit and transport potential, construction of roads, housing and administrative buildings, sale of food wheat on the Iranian market and its transit by the SWAP-operations system to the Gulf ports and increasing Kazakh oil?s supply on the Caspian Sea. Upon completion of the meeting Y. Utembayev thanked the Iranian Minister for support and personal assistance in solution of many issues.
