Kazakh film 'Alga' wins in two nominations at international festival in Iran

The 14th edition of the International Sports Film Festival became a landmark event for Kazakhstan’s cinematography, as the film Alga by Yernar Nurgaliev was awarded in two nominations, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Yernar Nurgaliev was named the winner in the Best Director nomination, and Erik Zholzhaksynov was recognized as the Best Supporting Actor.

Alga is a film about the strength of spirit, brotherly love and the pursuit of a dream, despite all the trials that life throws at them. The film was shot with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan and the Center for the Support of National Cinema. The producer of the film is Maxim Akbarov, and director is Yernar Nurgaliev.

From November 24 to 30, 2024, Kazakhstan’s Almaty city hosted the 17th Eurasia International Film Festival.
