On December 19, 2023, within the framework of the opening of the Days of Kazakh cinema was shown the film "Kazakh Khanate: Golden Throne". Zhanibek Abdrashov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Hungary, delivered a welcome speech. In his speech, he stated that the film was inspired by Ilyas Esenberlin's famous novel "Nomads" and takes place at the end of the 15th century, when the process of forming the young Kazakh state and its struggle for the Great Steppe was active. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan emphasized that the film conveyed the life of the people at the time, the geopolitical conditions of the formation of the Kazakh Khanate, as well as details of costumes and battle scenes. The Kazakhstani Ambassador also mentioned that this film won the film award in Portugal in 2022, as well as the Grand Prix at the film festival in Bulgaria in 2023. The director of the film, honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustem Abdrashev also took part in the events. In his speech, he thanked the evening's guests for their warm welcome and emphasized the significance of the Kipchak tribes in Kazakh and Hungarian history. He also discussed his future creative plans, which include developing a joint project with Hungarian colleagues to highlight the two peoples' shared historical past.

Famous Hungarian director Tamás Tóth's Kazakh-Hungarian film "Oliara" was shown on December 20, 2023.

This picture tells a difficult period in the history of the Kazakh people – the famine and collectivization of agriculture. In his speech, the director noted that he first thought about making a movie when he was a student at VGIK, when he first learned about the Asharshylyk tragedy from fellow Kazakh students. Tamás Tóth also emphasized that this film is the most important project in his life.

The Days of Kazakhstan Cinema, which brought together more than 800 guests, including government and public figures of Hungary, representatives of business and the Kazakh diaspora were inspired not only by the rich historical past of Kazakhstan, but also touched by the sad pages of the past of the Kazakh people.
