Kazakh film ‘Taptym au seni’ makes KZT1bn, sets box office record for highest grossing film

The romantic comedy ‘Taptym au seni’ (Finally, Found You) by Dariga Badykova set a box office record for highest grossing film after surpassing KZT1bn in just 10 days, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

The film, which earned KZT1bn at the box office in just 10 days from December 1 to 10, is on the way to reach another box office milestone of the country.

Starring in the film are Olzhas Abai, known as Ochooou, Dariga Badykova, who also acted as the director.

The romcom ‘Taptym au seni’ is about childhood friends Saule and Zheksen. The granny of Zheksen asks Saule to find a girlfriend for his grandson, to which Saule agrees under one condition that their friendship with Zheksen must not end. Zheksen’s life takes a 180 degree turn after he finally finds a girlfriend. He barely finds time for meeting with Saule, who being angered by this, starts dating with café owner Yusuf. As the relationships between Zheksen and Saule get worse, the former decides to marry a girl named Alka..
