Kazakh Financial Monitoring Agency head reports on action plan to tackle shadow economy
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan, Zhanat Elimanov, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Akorda press service.
Elimanov reported on the action plan to combat the shadow economy. He also focused on bringing the national system to fight against fraud and money laundering in line with the Financial Action Task Force recommendations.
The Head of State set the newly-appointed chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency tasks to reduce shadow economy rates and ensure transparency in the country’s financial sector.
As earlier reported, the Head of State appointed Zhanat Elimanov as the chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan.
Born in 1978 in Karaganda, Elimanov graduated from the Buketov Karaganda State University.
Zhanat Elimanov previously held the position of the Chairman of the Agency for Financial Monitoring from 2021 to 2024.
