Kazakh, Finnish presidents agree on mutual visits
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb on the sidelines of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Akorda reports.
President Tokayev highlighted that Finland is a reliable and trusted partner of Kazakhstan in northern Europe and the EU in general.
During the talks, the heads of state confirmed their commitment to further development of bilateral relations, including in trade and economic as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres. Successful realization of joint projects with the involvement of Finnish companies in the pharmaceutical industry, industrial machinery and engineering was noted.
The sides also exchanged views on the current issues of international and regional agenda, interaction within multilateral groupings. Kazakh leader Tokayev wished Finland success in its OSCE presidency.
Following the talks, the Kazakh and Finnish presidents agreed on mutual visits, set to give a new impetus to greater political and economic partnership between Astana and Helsinki.
