Kazakh FM meets Maldives counterpart

ASTANA. April 3. KAZINFORM. Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Marat Tazhin has met with Foreign Minister of the Maldives Ahmed Shaheed in Astana today; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA?s press service.

The parties discussed the issues of activation of political and trade-economic contacts between the two states, cooperation in the sphere of transport, tourism and energy as well as interaction in the multilateral format, in particular, within the frame of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, CICA and Congress of World and Traditional Religions? Leaders. The Kazakh-Maldives diplomatic relations were announced in a joint communique issued on March 15, 2000.
