Kazakh FM meets with OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha

As part of a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in an Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu met with OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

During the talks, the sides exchanged their views on the topical international issues and the current situation in the Islamic world, and also discussed the further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Organization. In particular, the progress of the implementation of Kazakh initiatives put forward within the framework of the OIC, such as the Islamic Organization for Food Security, the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform, the establishment of the International Agency for Biological Safety, etc. was reviewed.

The head of Kazakh Foreign Ministry noted the important role of the OIC General Secretariat in strengthening Islamic solidarity and said that Kazakhstan pays special attention to cooperation with this Organization.

In turn, Taha highly appreciated Kazakhstan's contribution to the OIC and its efforts to support the Organization's initiatives. The Secretary General stressed the desire of the Organization to expand cooperation with Kazakhstan.
