Kazakh FM Nurtleu, Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan Nagashima meet in Astana
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu received Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Akihisa Nagashima, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the Kazakh-Japanese strategic partnership in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation within international platforms.
Particular attention was paid to the preparation of joint activities in 2025, including the organization of the first Summit of the Central Asia+Japan Dialogue in Astana.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of bilateral cooperation with Japan, which is an important partner in Asia. In this regard, the readiness to further strengthen cooperation across the full range of areas was confirmed.
Japan has advanced technologies and innovations in demand in various sectors of the economy. We see significant potential for expanding cooperation and realization of new investment projects, noted Minister Nurtleu.
The parties expressed interest in developing joint projects in the spheres of energy, ecology and extraction of critical minerals, which will contribute to the growth of mutual trade and investment.
In turn, Nagashima noted that Kazakhstan is a key partner of Japan in Central Asia and has sustainable opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting there was also an exchange of views on topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a meeting with Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, member of the House of Representatives Akihisa Nagashima.
