Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Frans Timmermans and Minister Idrissov held negotiations on the pressing issues of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands in the Kazakh capital.

"Kazakhstan and the Netherlands are reliable long-term partners cooperating in political, economic and humanitarian spheres both in bilateral and multilateral formats. Europe is Kazakhstan's №1 partner in trade and investments. The Netherlands invested nearly one fourth of all direct foreign investments or $50 billion into Kazakhstan. Trade between the countries is growing rapidly even amid global economic crisis; it totaled $10 billion this year," E. Idrissov noted.

The sides noted the potential Kazakhstan and the Netherlands have to solve regional issues within such multilateral institutes as the UN, the OSCE and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

Utmost attention was also paid to the cooperation in agriculture, green energy, space sector and creation of research centers and parks.
