Kazakh Foreign Minister visited China
ASTANA. March 31. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakh Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin visited People?s Republic of China on Monday. Kazakh MFA?s official spokesman Yerzhan Ashikbayev has made it public at a briefing today.
M. Tazhin was received by Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping. He also held talks with Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
The parties discussed the preparation of the oncoming Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev?s state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao and his participation in the 2009 meeting of the Bo'ao Forum for Asia (BFA) in south China's Hainan Province. The diplomats exchanged opinions on the issues of Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership. They discussed a wide array of topics concerning bilateral relations in various spheres.
The parties noted dynamic development of trade-economic collaboration and growth of the commodity turnover. According to the ministers, the task set by the authorities of Kazakhstan and China ? to reach the amount of USD 15 billion of commodity circulation ? will be realized ahead of time.
Besides, the ministers considered the issues of interaction within such international organizations as the UN, SCO and CICA.
The parties expressed readiness to activate cooperation between the foreign affairs ministries of Kazakhstan and China, namely to hold bilateral consultations. M. Tazhin invited Yang Jiechi to visit Kazakhstan next year.
