Kazakh-French Center forTechnology Transfer presented in Paris
BRUSSELS. March 16. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov and French Minister of State for Foreign Trade Anne-Marie Idrac chaired the 8th session of the Kazakh-French Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation in Paris; Kazinform reports.
During the session head of ?Center for Engineering and Technology Transfer? JSC Azat Betekbayev made a report, in which he presented ?Kazakh-French Center forTechnology Transfer ?, within the framework of which access and integration of the Kazakh network of technology transfer to the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). The initiative of this centre creation was adopted and supported by all participants of the Commission and excited interest in social circles of France.
Within the framework of technology transfer development and implementation of ?Path to Europe? state program for 2009-2011 a ?Kazakh-French Technology Transfer Center? is created. Promoter of the Kazakh side is ?Engineering and Technology Transfer Center? JSC (National Welfare Fund ?SamrukKazyna? JSC), from the French side ? Center for European Integration Strategies CEIS (President - Olivier Darrason).
The main activity of the Center is the solution of problems of the accelerated transfer of research results to the production of innovative products and bring them to consumers on a commercial basis, as well as international cooperation through information exchange, including the transfer of knowledge. Its activities will be based on the priorities for the development of the real sector of Kazakhstan economy, such as: energy, renewable energy, chemicals, petrochemicals, deep processing of mineral raw materials, engineering, information technology, agro-industrial complex, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Within an official visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Kazakhstan in June, 2009 signing of seven agreements between Kazakhstan and France are planned.
Within the framework of the Week of Kazakhstan in France a Forum ?Kazakhstan ? strategic partner of Europe? was organized under the auspices of French President N.Sarkozy with a view to implement ?Path to Europe? state program.
Participants of the session noted the importance and necessity of creating this Center, which will help implement ?Path to Europe? state program for 2009-2011, will be useful for strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries, and Kazakhstan?s chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010.
