Kazakh, French leaders had talks in Akorda
Presidents of Kazakhstan and France - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Emmanuel Macron – had talks in Akorda, Kazinform News Agency reports.
As the press service of Akorda informed, the Kazakh leader warmly greeted his counterpart and thanked him for accepting the invitation to pay a visit to Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about dynamic development of the Kazakh-French cooperation and said it needed an additional impetus. He named the French President’s visit historic and important, and expressed confidence that the talks would be productive.
He said that France had been Kazakhstan’s key and reliable partner in the European Union and one of the largest investors.
In turn, Emmanuel Macron highly praised the relations between Kazakhstan and France.
He thanked the Kazakh President for invitation and organization of this visit, and said he was pleased to come to Astana and meet him. In his words, both sides will be able to advance in important international issues and highlight their commitment to the UN Charter, such principles as territorial integrity, national sovereignty, as well as to discuss the key bilateral issues.
Kazakhstan and France are important economic partners, he said.
According to him, important contracts will be signed which will let promote strategic and economic relations between the two countries.
The Kazakh and French leaders discussed the state and prospects of development of the bilateral strategic partnership. Special attention was given to the strengthening of the political dialogue, deepening cooperation in trade-economic, investment, energy, transport and logistics, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Emmanuel Macron also exchanged views on the acute issues of the international and regional agenda.
After that the presidents continued their talks in an extended format with the participation of the two countries’ delegations.
