Kazakh Head of State meets with Chair of Executive Committee of International Fund for Saving Aral Sea

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Askhat Orazbay, Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service. 

During the meeting, the Kazakh President was informed about the Fund’s activity and its tasks for years ahead set to be carried out during Kazakhstan’s chairmanship.

Tokayev noted the importance of further strengthening interaction of the founding states of the Fund, including the issues of establishing a regional cooperation mechanism to effectively use the water and energy resources of Central Asia, introduction of a single automated system of accounting, monitoring, distribution of water resources in the basin of the Aral Sea.
