Kazakh Head of State receives Astana Motors founder Nurlan Smagulov

 Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Astana Motors founder Nurlan Smagulov, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service. 

The President was briefed about the results of the company and realization of the industrial projects on development and localization of automobile industry in Kazakhstan.

As Smagulov said, Astana Motors companies paid taxes, duties, and fees and other mandatory payments to the local and republican budget to the tune of KZT140bn. As of today, the company employs 6,489 people, including 1,615 in production.

Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Almaty plants have manufactured 48,857 cars and 981 commercial vehicles.

Tokayev was briefed that the construction of the multi-brand plant Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan with manufacturing of Chery, GWM (Haval), Changan cars continues. The plant is to manufacture 90 thousand cars per year, including 40% for domestic market and 60% for export. Its construction is to complete by February 2025.

The President noted that the development of manufacturing industry, including the mechanical engineering, is the priority of the industrial policy.
