Kazakh healthcare ministry reveals condition of AZAL plane crash survivors
27 of 29 survivors of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash have been rushed to the Mangistau Regional Multifunctional Hospital, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Ministry of Healthcare.
“The patients were diagnosed with multiple injuries, like closed craniocerebral injuries, brain concussion, closed chest injuries, and traumatic shocks,” the ministry says.
As of December 26 morning, 11 patients were in intensive care unit, 13 were in traumatology unit, two in neurosurgery, and one in surgery unit. Two patients are in satisfactory condition.
“Two patients are in extremely serious condition. The condition of 11 patients is evaluated as severe. 14 patients are in a moderately severe condition. Eight of 11 ICU patients are receiving lung ventilation and sedation. On admission, all patients underwent detailed examination, and after their condition was stabilized they were hospitalized,” the ministry adds.
A mobile crew of the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine including two resuscitators, four traumatologists, a neurosurgeon and a combustion specialist arrived in Aktau from Astana to help the plane crash survivors.
The ministry will continue providing additional information about the condition of the injured and the progress of their treatment.
Earlier, it was reported that nine Russian citizens injured in the plane crash left for Moscow.
One of the injured women was identified.
38 died and 29 survived as Baku-Grozny flight J2-8243 operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25.
