Kazakh hockey player disqualified for 2 years due to illicit drugs use

It is noted that the IIHF made such a decision after Solarev's doping test which he passed on April 17 during the World Cup.The test showed positive result for salbutamol content. This was reported on the website Vesti.kz.
The sportsman claims that it was taken solely because of lungs problems, but IIHF did not receive evidence that the drug did not affect the athlete's game and its results. Solarev will not play hockey until July 31, 2015 .
Ilya Solarev (born August 2, 1982) is a Kazakh professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 9th (281st overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
He participated in the 2010 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Kazakhstan men's national ice hockey team .
