Kazakh-Italian intergovernmental working group held sitting in Rome

ASTANA. October 27. KAZINFORM. The 5th sitting of the Kazakh-Italian intergovernmental working group for industrial and economic cooperation and exchange took place in Rome; Kazinform refers to the press service of Kazakh Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning.

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Timur Suleimenov. The Italian side was headed by Vice Minister of Economic Development Adolfo Urso.

The sitting was held on the threshold of the official visit of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Italy. The issues of development of economic and industrial cooperation in various spheres - energy, infrastructure and transport, finance and insurance, agriculture, healthcare, small and medium businesses, standardization and metrology - were considered.

The sides also discussed the aspects of public-private partnership, cooperation between the commerce and industry chambers of the two states and participation of Kazakhstan in the Customs Union with Russia and Belarus as well as Kazakhstan's joining the WTO. 

It was proposed to reorganize the working group for industrial and economic cooperation and exchange into a commission for industrial and economic cooperation and exchange. A protocol was signed upon the results of the sitting.
