Kazakh-Korean coop prospects to be discussed in Almaty

ALMATY. April 22. KAZINFORM. International scientific conference on state and prospects of Kazakh-Korean cooperation will take place in Almaty on April 29. The event is held on the threshold of Korean President Lee Myung-bak?s official visit to Kazakhstan; Kazinform refers to the organizers – Kazakh Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan and Korea?s embassy in Kazakhstan.

The status and prospects of development of bilateral relations in the spheres of policy, trade, energy and cultural-humanitarian contacts will be discussed. One of the key topics will be cooperation in overcoming consequences of the global financial crisis. Special attention will be paid to participation of Korean companies in Kazakhstan?s infrastructure development. Korean Ambassador to Kazakhstan Lee Byung-Hwa, leading experts of scientific institutes and independent analytical centers of the two states, representatives of the diplomatic corps, accredited in Kazakhstan and leadership of the Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan will participate in the forum. The Republic of Korea is one of the priority partners of Kazakhstan in Asia-Pacific region. The two states cooperate in the spheres of economy, energy, information technologies, culture, science and education. The sides are also interested in regional projects aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in mineral resources production, oil business and environmental protection.
