Kazakh MFA denies information on land lease to China

ASTANA. March 9. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmamov/ "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan denies the information on land lease to China," Askar Abdrakhmanov, the Official Spokesperson of the Kazakh Foreign Office, made it public at a briefing today.

"As for the false information published in several mass media including Internet agencies concerning transfer of the Kazakh farmlands to China for lease, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kazakhstan officially announces that this information is absolutely untrue and groundless," A. Abdrakhmanov said.

"Such statements are innuendos and a deliberate attempt to manipulate public opinion," he added.

In this view, A. Abdrakhmanov called on the mass media to be careful about these publications and their sources.

"The full list of the agreements signed between Kazakhstan and China during the visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in February is available at the Ministry's website," the MFA Official Spokesperson concluded.
