Kazakh Minister had talks on the sidelines of 8th WTO ministerial conference

ASTANA. December 18. KAZINFORM A plenary session devoted to the Russia's accession to the WTO took place within the Eighth Ministerial Conference held in Geneva on December 16. Kazakh Economic Integration Minister Zhanar Aitzhanova addressed the sitting, the secretariat of the Economic Integration Ministry said.

The Russia's WTO accession and completion of the negotiations on Kazakhstan's joining the Organization till the end of 2012 are of great importance for the foreign trade policy of the Customs Union member countries and will provide its efficient functioning," the Minister said.

The Minister held a series of bilateral talks on Kazakhstan's entry into the Organization.

As earlier reported, Kazakhstan signed a Protocol on the completion of the negotiations on the access to Kazakhstani market with Guatemala.

The same day the Kazakh Minister met with the UNCTAD secretary general Supachai Panitchpakdi. She also took part in the ministerial consultative meeting of the OIC initiated by the Islamic Development Bank.

Besides, Aitzhanova had talks with Federal Chancellor of Switzerland Johann Schneider-Ammann to debate trade and economic cooperation issues.

The same day Minister Aitzhanova held bilateral talks with head of the Argentine's delegation, Ambassador Horacio Salvador to discuss the access to Kazakhstani market.

Besides, Kazakh Economic Integration Minister Zhanar Aitzhanova met with Ministers of Trade of Australia, and International Trade of Canada, and Brazil Foreign Minister to debate the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
