Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources held meetings in Davos

DAVOS. January 31. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Within the frameworks of the World Economic Forum in Davos Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev met with the heads of a number of companies. Issues of the development of alternative energy, ore mining sector were discussed at the meetings, Kazinform reports.

S. Mynbayev met with head of the biggest ore mining company ?Rio Tinto? Paul Skinner, the Director of the department on energy issues of the World Economic Forum, the Chairman of the Board of ?Total? Company (France). The meeting with the president of ?Vestas? company - the biggest in the sphere of wind power was of special importance due to the signing by our country the Kyoto Protocol and adoption of the Law on renewable energy resources. The Minister met with the Chairman and Executive Director of ?ArcelorMittal? company as well.
