Kazakh Minister of Industry and Trade proposes to extend or raise rates of custom duties

?Terms of reduced rates of customs duties on some important foods on import to the territory of Kazakhstan are expired on January 1, 2009. In this regard the Ministry of Agriculture had to make a proposal to extend the zero lower rates or raise them?, V.Shkolnik said at the telephone conference of the Government. Prices for consumer goods were increased by 9.5% in December 2008, comparing with the corresponding period of 2007. Particularly, prices for food products were increased by 10.8%, for nonfood products ? by 5.7%. The task on curbing inflation at the level of 10% is accomplished, V.Shkolnik noted.
