Kazakh nationals to be able to work legally in S Korea

On Thursday, January 11, officials of  Kazakhstan and South Korea had an online meeting for discussing the prospects for cooperation within the EPS system, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The sides discussed the issue of inclusion of Kazakhstan into the South Korean Employment Permit System (EPS).

EPS is the system that the Korean government introduced to manage foreign workers. It will enable the nationals of Kazakhstan to be employed legally in South Korea ensuring they get equal working conditions and protection of their rights

Those attending the meeting were Chairman of the Kazakh Ministry’s Migration Committee Askarbek Yertayev, Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Integration Saadat Assanseitova and Deputy Director of Foreign Workforce Division at the Korean Employment and Labour Ministry Myung Sung-Ho.

Askarbek Yertayev informed the meeting participants on the work launched in Kazakhstan to open a Korean EPS Training Centre.

The sides expressed readiness for fruitful and constructive interaction and for the expansion of the bilateral cooperation within labour migration.
