Greater trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China is also to contribute to promotion of interregional interaction. Being chamber deputies, representing the interests of the Kazakh regions, the Senators could make a considerable contribution to enhancing interaction between Kazakh regions and Chinese provinces. Many cities and regions of Kazakhstan already enjoy twin-city relations with Chinese provinces. Our today’s delegation includes Senators from Abai and Zhetysu regions, bordering with China. We’re interested in further developing close cooperation, said Ashimbayev.

In turn, Zhejiang Province governor Wang Hao also pointed out the importance and mutual benefits from greater regional partnership and sharing work experiences between both countries’ regions.

In 2023, Zhejiang Province’s GDP stood at 8.25 trillion yuan (around $1.15trl), with private businesses generating over 70% of the province’s tax revenues and contributing almost 70% of the GDP.

Earlier, Senate Speaker Ashimbayev met with the Chinese expert community.
